To date, ARDF-Canada has channeled donations to help with relief efforts in the following disasters:

2021 – Cuba Relief

ARDFC was able to assist the REC ANiC Cuba Mission Society by sending $2,425 to assist with the purchase of water treatment kits, medicines, or living expenses, in this country, also hard hit in these pandemic times.

2017 – South Sudan famine relief

With our strong relationship with the South Sudan Episcopal Church, we were able to send aid directly to the dioceses where the famine is most severe to support the work they are already doing feeding and caring for those who need it most.

2017 – Southern US Hurricane Harvey relief

Donors generously responded by giving about $16,000. This has been sent to the ACNA Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast to help local parishes minister to the physical and spiritual needs of their devastated communities.

2017 – South Sudan famine relief

Donors gave $16,000 though ARDFC which we have been able to channel to our partner in South Sudan, the Diocese of Wau.

2016-17 – Haiti hurricane recovery

We were able to send $3700 to our partner agency in Haiti – Compassion Canada – to help them provide assistance to impoverished families devastated by the hurricane.

2015-16 – Aid for Syrian refugees

We have been able to send more than $24,000, through our partner the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), to help refugees in Lebanon, Jordan and even Syria.

2015-16 – Nepal earthquake relief

Partnering with the Anglican Diocese of Singapore and its Deanery of Nepal, we were able to send $38,500 to help with recovery and relief efforts.

2016 – Fort McMurray, Alberta wildfire devastation relief

We raised $16,526.70 to help those fleeing the wildfires which destroyed hundreds of homes and much of their city. This was channeled through the Red Cross in order to receive matching funds from the federal government.

2015 – Myanmar flood relief

We were able to send $6,624 in response to Archbishop Stephen Than Myint Oo’s urgent appeal after heavy rains and landslides caused devastation in six dioceses.

2014 – Iraqi refugee relief

We raised $38,000 which we are channeling through Archbishop Mouneer Anis and the Anglican Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East to help those working directly with the refugees to alleviate their suffering.

2013 – Philippines Typhoon disaster recovery

We are grateful for the kind heartedness of our supporters who gave $20,202 to help “restore health, hope and dignity in Jesus’ name” to typhoon ravaged areas of the Philippines. ARDFC partnered with Compassion Canada which has ongoing work in the Philippines to ensure your donations were used effectively.

2013 – Southern Alberta flood relief

Thanks to our generous donors, ARDFC was able to raise $10,279 in emergency aid to help in flood recovery efforts in Calgary, High River and other communities devastated by flooding in southern Alberta. Our partner in providing emergency aid was the Salvation Army. You can read a report on their work in the recovery effort here.

2011 – Japan tsunami and earthquake relief

More than $15,000 was channeled through ARDFC to help with Anglican Province of Japan, while ARDF, our US-based partner, sent $114,000 in donations to help meet the desperate needs in this area. The Province of Japan has provided us with a report and photos (below) of the disaster and some of the Church’s ministries.

2010 – Chile earthquake relief

ARDFC sent donations of more than $3000 to support the earthquake relief work undertaken by the Diocese of Chile. Through ARDF, our US-based partner, over $50,000 was channeled to help meet urgent needs in this area.
